Carrying over license information, etc. during Individual Number Card renewal

You can now transfer driver’s license information, etc. to your Individual Number Card during a renewal. This service is available since September 1, 2025 to those who have already had their driver’s license or driving history certificate integrated with their Individual Number Card at a driver’s license center, or the like.

Requirements for the carry over

You can carry over license and other information if you meet the following requirements.

• You are currently a holder of a Myna Driver’s License or a Myna Driving History Certificate
• You have submitted an electronic certificate for signature to the police at a driver’s license center, etc.
• You are reissuing your Individual Number Card for the following reasons
  • Your current Individual Number Card is about to expire within 3 months
  • The space for additional information on your Individual Number Card is full

How to carry over the information

Please apply for the renewal of your Individual Number Card through the online application website.
Note that you cannot carry over license and other information if you apply by postal mail or through an ID photo booth.

If you wish to carry over the information, select the button labeled [I have integrated my driver’s license (driving history certificate) with my Individual Number Card] at the bottom of the [Application Course Selection] screen of the application website.

If you wish to carry over the information, the subsequent [Application Information Registration] screen will require you to enter the [License Information Record Number] recorded in your Myna Driver’s License. (The [License Information Record Number] entry field will only appear if you have selected the button labeled [I have integrated my driver’s license (driving history certificate) with my Individual Number Card] in the [Application Course Selection] screen).

You can check the License Information Record Number through the Myna Driver’s License Card Reading app.

If the [License Information Record Number] entry field appears on the [Application Information Registration] screen although you have no intention to carry over your Myna Driver’s License, start over from the [Application Course Selection] screen. (If you do not wish to carry over your Myna Driver’s License, select the button labeled [Click here if you are applying for an Individual Number Card for the first time or have lost/damaged your card] or [Click here if you have an Individual Number Card only] in the [Application Course Selection] screen).

Points to note

Even if you requested a transfer of your license and other information when you applied for the card renewal, we may not be able to record the information in your new Individual Number Card if, for example, the address or name includes characters that cannot be used in electronic certificates for signature, you did not enter the correct License Information Record Number, or there have been changes in your name and/or address recently.

When you receive your Individual Number Card, please be sure to check that the “Notice of Issuance” delivered from your municipality indicates, “License/Driving Record Information: Yes”.

If “No” is indicated or the “License/Driving Record Information” field is not shown at all, your license and other information is not recorded in the new Individual Number Card. In this case, please have the information recorded in the card at a driver’s license center or the like at a later date. In addition, if you only have a Myna Driver’s License (if you do not have a regular driver’s license card), please avoid driving a car or other vehicle to the location (municipal office, etc.) where you will receive your Individual Number Card.
